Clean results with state-of-the-art equipment

Grad carpentry and cabinetmaking shop in Bad Urach at the foot of the Swabian Alb was founded by Master Carpenter Eugen Grad in 1958 and has been run by his grandson Jochen Grad in the third generation since 2002. For two years, the Grad carpentry shop has used the AURIGA 1308. The shop owner, Jochen Grad, described to us the changes since that time.

Which edging do you use primarily on your AURIGA 1308?

We mainly use 2 mm ABS edging and once and a while solid wood edging with a thickness of up to 5 mm. We hardly ever use thin edging.

What kind of glue do you use?

The machine can process glue in granular form as well as in cartridges. However, we use EVA glues in cartridge form exclusively, because they help keep the dirt out of the gluing station and can be metered very cleanly. The cartridges are simply practical. We use white or transparent glue frequently and the AURIGA 1308 allows us to change over in a flash. Right now, we don't have any PUR glue, but could use it with the machine at any time.

Are you satisfied with the processing quality?

We were able to improve the appearance in terms of processing and joint appearance to a high degree in comparison to the old machine. We are very pleased.

And what is your conclusion regarding the investment in the AURIGA 1308?

This machine has made us more flexible and allows us to satisfy nearly all customer requirements. With the new edgebander, production is also significantly more economical.
